SAM BURGESS TO PRESENT AT THE BUILDING CENTRE ON RAINWATER AND GREYWATER RECYCLING

As water scarcity and increased flood risk move from a future threat to present-day reality, SDS is demonstrating how rainwater and greywater reuse can deliver immediate, practical benefits for buildings and communities. Sam Burgess, Water Reuse Manager at SDS, will first present and then join a specialist panel discussion on the subject of ‘Rainwater Harvesting and Greywater Recycling’, taking place on Wednesday 4th February from 2–5 pm at The Building Centre, as part of The WATER Show, which runs until 11th April. He will share how smart water reuse systems are already helping to reduce mains water demand, cut operational costs, and meet ambitious sustainability targets.

Drawing on SDS’s extensive project experience, the presentation focuses on what works in practice—from dense urban retrofits to large mixed-use and non-residential developments. Over the past six years, SDS has delivered hundreds of rainwater and greywater recycling systems across residential, commercial, public sector, and hospitality projects, many in constrained London sites where space, access, and programme challenges are critical.

Sam will highlight how SDS supports projects from early feasibility and planning through to installation and long-term operation, including innovative solutions such as compact greywater recycling units designed for tight, retrofit spaces, and intelligent rainwater recovery systems that integrate with wider site drainage and flood attenuation strategies.
